Note on Language

It is interesting to note that the multi national influence of the Typo 3 Community on the development of the Typo3 CMS system was ‘localization’ of the system. For example members adapted and contributed their language and financial modules at a very early stage.

Documentation

Documentation contribution is yet another way in which the vision and tools of Typo 3 has motivated and encouraged a community to participate. In the early days of 2000 there were no tutorials or manuals. If there were manuals or documentation then they were invariably in the home language of the developer.

Within a few years of the initiation of the project members of the Typo3 community assisted in writing, editing and translating articles and manuals, Members of the early Typo3 community were primarily based in Northern Europe which meant that a large part of the documentation was originally in Danish or German. As the community spread globally English became the common language as many members had that as a second language. As this happened members translated and documented aspects of the project as it evolved.
